Jesus Prayed for You and Me!

Overflow Friends,

Hello, I want to take a moment to share something from the word really impacting me today. So I am reading John 17 today and trying to let it really sink in and marinade within me.  If your not familiar with John 17 it is Jesus prayer where He prays for Himself, His Disciples, and future believers (you and me).  It is amazing to hear the simplicity of this prayer and the cry of Jesus' heart that God would get the glory, that His followers would be full of JOY in the face of trials, would be ONE in their interactions, and would be set apart by God's WORD in order to stand against a world bent on destruction and evil.  

As I think about this I cannot shake the idea that Christ prayed that we would be in His word, full of joy, and unified in our interactions with each other in the bod
y of Christ.  It seems like all 3 of these are a real challenge for me as I live in a world that is fallen and doing its best to make sure I miss out on the great plan God has for me and it. 

 I wonder what would happen if I focused more on Christ and the things He wanted for more life and less on the things I want, or even the things I don't want in my life?  

Think of how simple it is when we focus on what Christ prayed for us...
  1. Eat His word (so I spend more time with Him)
  2. Be filled with Joy (so I enjoy Him and what He has given me)
  3. Be one with those around you (so I love others and strive for unity)




Simple, but profound.  May Jesus prayer for you and me become a reality as we focus on Him and what He has
 for us!

praise the Lord!

I have been thinking about you guys recently (especially as I showed some friends how to do some power lifts today!)

but more specifically because the Lord has developed a heart for brothers and sisters in low income situations and some of the culture, trends and bondage that can come along with that.

know that I am interceding for ya'll with our RISEN LORD! WHHOO!!
